ENSTTI will conduct a Training Module on « Decommissioning Safety » in 2020 at the premises of IRSN at Fontenay-aux-Roses.
This training module address respective safety topics related to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities with a focus on the needs of professionals from regulatory bodies or technical support organizations. This training brought together 8 trainees of which one from Slovakia, two from France and five from Lithuania, whose attendance of 4 was funded by the IAEA.
This basic training course offers a 5-day program, and is divided into a set of lectures and working group activities. In addition, during this training, a specific session is dedicated to innovative techniques for decommissioning related to 3D simulation and contaminated site characterization with geostatic concepts.
The 3D simulation is devoted to the application of the optimisation principle in intervention scenarios and sensitisation to complexity of such optimisation. The step by step optimisation was done thanks to a software DEMplus® that compute the duration of operations, dose exposure to the workers, the amount of waste generated by the work and the estimated cost. The multi-criteria analysis of these results led to optimisation strategies that were simulated too and compared in order to validate or disclaim them. Sensitivity studies to quantify the risk of several entry data on the scenario results are also performed during the exercises.
