The IAEA International Conference on the Challenges Faced by Technical and Scientific Support Organizations was held from 15 to 18 October in Brussels, Belgium.
It brought together 290 participants from both TSOs and regulatory bodies from 65 Member States and 5 international organizations.
The conference highlighted initiatives to develop and strengthen the capability of TSOs. On this occasion, ENSTTI’s Managing Director Didier Louvat was invited to deliver a speech on the ENSTTI initiative.
He explained how ENSTTI gradually turned into a recognised training and tutoring centre dedicated to meeting the nuclear regulatory authorities’ and TSOs’ growing need for highly qualified personnel with adequate knowledge and skills in nuclear safety and security.
In presenting the results of ENSTTI courses since its creation, he questioned the sustainability of its model and introduced ideas for further evolution.
